Looking back on the past, it seems everything is connected. A chain of events, a series of radical reactions, influences my choices, and with every domino that falls, memories pile up one by one. The curiosity filling my mind grows ever stronger. Where are you now? Where am I? The dominoes falling in a circle show me my yesterdays, and the particles of my time face each other and connect, filling up today. I think of dominoes when I’m losing sight of my true self. The chain of connections stretching from my past self to the present, like dominoes. I think of dominoes falling one by one, painting a beautiful picture, just as I’m forgetting myself. A beautiful chain reaction.
This track was first released in Japanese and is included in this album for the first time in Korean. Reinterpreting the sensibilities of 80s synth-pop and New Wave through contemporary production techniques, this track is built upon the sounds of vintage synthesizers that defined 80s synth-pop, such as the Roland Jupiter-8, Roland Juno-60, and Yamaha DX7. This design, which overlays an organic flow of emotion onto cold, mechanical synth layers, creates a timeless soundscape. The counterpoint structure where each instrument maintains an independent melody while interlocking as a single organism enhances the song’s density. The contrast between the meticulously layered synths, which cascade like falling dominoes, and the sub-bass that resonates from the depths of the ocean, brings the narrative of a chain reaction to life through a musical crescendo; as the track moves past the dance break toward the latter half, the dynamic range expands to its limits. The participation of Scandinavian pop producer Andreas Öhrn and ORKID (Matilda) adds the distinctive sound texture of Scandi Indie-Pop, completing this track within the realm of Neo-80s Progressive Synth-Pop.
This is the track on the album with the widest dynamic range. Starting with the delicate vocals in the intro and building up to the latter half, where Billlie’s signature layered, choir-like harmonies burst forth, it is a highly demanding performance that requires both emotional judgment and technical control in the vocal lines. It is also the moment when the vocal power of each Billlie member reaches its peak.
